Tafawaq Center for Development with “banafsaj saloon” organized a reading and discussion session for a publication titled “Who Spends Who Watches Over”, in the presence of a number of interested Bahrainis and lawyers.
The article focused on the financial rights and responsibilities of the members of muslim families based on a comparison between the changes that occurred to the role of women and men in our society as well as the portrayal of that in the Islamic teachings and the international laws.
“Halaa Lewin”, directed by Nadine Labaki, was the topic of the debate that took place in the same event, as the attendees discussed its Impact on the audience and the cinematography of the film, as well as the production of it.
The President of the center, Ms. Maryam Al-Ruwaiei had a few words to say about this event:” We aim to educate the society about the vocabulary of the law of status by merging a group of the Bahraini youth with a group of young Bahraini lawyers in order to arrive to different viewpoints and experiences emerging from either a legal or a humanitarian prospective”
It is noteworthy that the Tafawaq Center for Development was established in 2015 and it seeks to work and partner with civil society organizations to achieve sustainable development goals in the Bahraini society.
